Turnbull talks NBN in Cairns

Cairns is powering ahead in terms of NBN construction, says Malcolm Turnbull, with rollouts continuing throughout the region.

“There are currently about 15,000 premises where the NBN is available in Cairns, there’s another five, six thousand under construction like this and shortly construction there will be will be construction will commence in the northern part of the city for another, in areas covering another 47,000 premises.

“I know there have been some problems in the past but the company is now under new management and has been for some time now and we’re getting over those problems and getting cracking as you’ve seen today.”
