Utility providers are looking to harness and scale artificial intelligence (AI) for measurable impact across the delivery of essential services.

While the promise of AI is undeniable, integrating this technology into legacy systems and workflows presents a complex challenge.

On 20 March 2025, thought leaders from NVIDIA, AWS and EXL alongside utility, banking, and insurance professionals convened for EXL’s AI in Action event, to discuss this very topic.

For the utility sector, the message was clear: AI, including large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI, is ready to be embedded across operations, customer engagement, and decision-making.

But success depends on the ability to align data, governance, and execution.

The live stream of the event is now available online, enabling those who missed the event access to the resources, insights and demos they need to take the next step.

Key takeaways for utility leaders included:

  • Bridging strategy and execution to scale AI transformation with precision
  • Using EXL’s LLM framework to deliver measurable business outcomes
  • Harnessing agentic AI to reimagine operating models with confidence and impact
  • Modernising legacy systems to unlock agility and innovation

These insights provide utilities with a practical roadmap for moving beyond experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment – elevating the customer experience for the essential services we all rely on every day.
