For the fourth consecutive year, Unitywater has joined forces with Sunshine Coast Lightning to deliver meaningful impacts in local Queensland communities
The 2025 partnership was launched on 27 March 2025 at a community-focused event at The Breakfast Club Redcliffe.
Unitywater Executive Manager Strategic Engagement, Joshua Zugajev, said Unitywater and Sunshine Coast Lightning shared a strong commitment to support healthy and thriving communities and Unitywater was proud to be the club’s 2025 Community Partner.
“We’ve had a great morning with the volunteers here at The Breakfast Club Redcliffe and meeting locals who have stopped by to grab a bite to eat,” Mr Zugajev said.
“People and community are at the heart of everything we do. Our people live and work in the same suburbs, play in the same parks and waterways and drink the same water, so for us, it’s personal,” he said.
“It’s great to be launching the fourth year of our partnership here in Redcliffe today and strengthening the work we are doing together to make meaningful impact in our local communities.
“This year we will be supporting grassroots netball clubs and associations across Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa, and continuing to encourage people to enjoy our fresh and safe water to reduce the need for single-use plastic bottles.”
Sunshine Coast Lightning Head Coach, Belinda Reynolds, said Unitywater’s Drink Tap van had become a staple at Lightning home games held at UniSC Arena across the year.
“Having free tap water provided at each home game allows fans to bring their reusable water bottle along and stay hydrated, which is what the team does too,” Ms Reynolds said.
“If you’re coming along to support us at one of our home games at UniSC Arena this season, make sure to bring your reusable water bottle, or get one of Unitywater’s stainless steel bottles from our local netball associations for a gold coin donation, and visit the Drink Tap van for free water refills,” she said.
“We’re thrilled to continue building our strong partnership with Unitywater, and to spend this year focusing on our shared support for grassroots netball associations,” she said.
“The partnership will also support the fourth annual Unitywater Lightning Cup, which we will now expand to two-days to accommodate the strong interest from local schools across the region.”
