Unitywater has welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Anna Jackson was appointed to the role in July 2022, taking the reins from acting CEO Pauline Thompson.

Ms Jackson was previously the General Manager Customer and Commercial for state-government body SA Water. She has also held executive roles in business strategy, water security, customer engagement, and environmental and social governance.

Ms Jackson said she was excited to commence her role and build on Unitywater’s strategy, vision and future.

“South East Queensland is a beautiful part of the world and I’m delighted to be calling the region home as well as leading the business that sustains its liveability,” Ms Jackson said.

“Unitywater is taking an active role in ensuring its essential services make a positive contribution to the communities in which it operates by operating sustainably now, and into the future.”

Ms Jackson highlighted that climate change and the need for sustainable approaches to water and sewerage services, will be a major priority under her leadership.

“With the rapidly growing population, and challenges such as climate change, we have the opportunity to deliver a network that meets the needs of our customers and communities while protecting our environment,” Ms Jackson said. New Unitywater CEO Anna Jackson

“I want to acknowledge the excellent work of acting CEO Pauline Thomson, who is also Unitywater’s Chief Financial Officer.

“My role is to build on Unitywater’s exceptional legacy and to continue to work with our people to deliver better outcomes for our communities.”

After almost a decade with George Theo as CEO, Unitywater Chairman, Michael Arnett, said Ms Jackson was an excellent fit to progress the organisation’s vision for the future.

“Anna has a well-earned reputation for developing businesses that deliver excellent customer service and environmental performance while making a real difference in the communities where they operate,” Mr Arnett said.

“Anna joins us at an exciting time for Unitywater as we meet the water and sewerage needs of a growing population across Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

“Anna is an outstanding talent and I’m looking forward to working with her as we continue to build a modern, high-quality water and sewerage services provider.”
