Townsville City Council (QLD) will be upgrading an existing water main along Charters Towers Road. The water main is over 50 years old and will receive $9.4 million in upgrades.
Project scope
The replacement of the water main will require works to be carried out in multiple locations across Hyde Park, Hermit Park, Pimlico, Mundingburra, and Aitkenvale including Anderson Garden and Minden Drain.
Work will mostly be done with open trenching, but some road crossings will be carried out using trenchless methods.
Heavy machinery will be required in the work zones.
