Progress has been made on the Apollo Bay water storage project in Victoria, with the upgrade expected to be completed by the end of February 2014.

Works include the installation of 55,000 m2 of lining in a new 250 ML water storage basin and construction of the embankments.

Reinstatement work has begun and will continue over the holiday period.

Commissioning of the two pumping stations has also begun. The temporary pumping station has been removed and the area has been revegetated by Southern Otway Landcare Network.

The Apollo Bay Water Treatment Plant is also being upgraded. Its capacity is set to increase from 2.5 to 4 million litres a day.
