Victoria’s largest water retailer has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2022 Australian Service Excellence Awards (ASEAs).

Yarra Valley Water was nominated in the Customer Service Team of the Year (Large) category in the coveted awards, which are run by the Customer Service Institute of Australia.

Yarra Valley Water Managing Director, Pat McCafferty, said it was a great achievement for the utility to be recognised as one of the top companies in Australia for customer service.

“Our success comes down to our brilliant people and I’m so proud of the entire team who deliver excellent customer service, day in and day out,” Mr McCafferty said.

“In the past year, we’ve achieved our best ever results in delivering on our customer commitments including providing safe drinking water, affordable bills, reliable services and rapid response to fixing faults and emergencies.

“At the same time, we’ve experienced exceptional customer service levels, supporting more than 390,000 customer calls.

“Despite the challenges of COVID and severe weather events impacting our services, our customer satisfaction scores have remained consistently high, with a rating of 87 per cent.

“We’re honoured to be nominated alongside other finalists in this category, including leading national brands BT Financial Group, Department of Transport, Smartgroup Corporation and Keolis Downer Adelaide.”

Yarra Valley Water was also recognised for its excellent customer service in the Australian Service Excellence Awards in 2019, winning Customer Service Organisation of the Year (Government/Not for Profit).

The finalists will be announced at a Gala Dinner in Sydney in October.
