Visionstream Australia Pty Ltd has announced that it is accelerating its roll out of the NBN across Tasmania, having undertaken discussions with NBN Co, clarifying the approach for fibre delivery across the State to more than 200,000 premises.
Allan Bradford, General Manager NBN Visionstream, says “We look forward to continuing our current work to roll out this important infrastructure and collaboratively reviewing design and construction processes with NBN Co for more efficient and effective delivery.”
Over the past few weeks Visionstream says it has made significant progress on the rollout with 30 crews in Hobart, Launceston and Bellerive undertaking pit replacements, fibre hauling and splicing.
Visionstream is continuing to construct Fibre Servicing Area Modules (FSAM), including a large amount of aerial cabling across the State, and is issuing tenders for new construction civil works, as work packages are released by NBN.
“These are integral works to ensure the project remains on track and to get the network rolled out,” said Mr Bradford.
“We’ve always remained committed to delivering the NBN in Tasmania. We have a 200 strong workforce in the state, 10 trainees and a large contracting workforce to ensure this project is delivered.”
