Wannon Water Managing Director, Andrew Jeffers, has advised that he is not seeking reappointment at the conclusion of his contract, with the utility starting the process to fill the role.
Wannon Water said Mr Jeffers was first appointed to lead the water corporation in July 2015 and has had an extensive career in the water sector, with his current contract ending in mid-July 2025.
Mr Jeffers said it was a privilege to have held the position of Managing Director.
“Wannon Water is a fabulous organisation. We do important work that is of immense benefit to our communities and our region.
“My departure in July will create a space for someone fresh to lead the organisation into the next exciting phase and settle in ahead of the next Price Submission due in late 2027.”
Wannon Water Board Chair, Helen Scarborough, said Mr Jeffers had made an enormous contribution to Wannon Water and the water sector and would continue to do so for the next five months.
“Our customers have benefited from Andrew’s leadership and commitment to ensure our organisation is financially sound, so they receive great value for their investment in water and sewerage services.
“He’s been a powerful advocate for South West Victoria and our vision to go beyond water for strong communities. Andrew has always put people at the centre of his decision-making. He is particularly passionate about ensuring we lead by example as a safe, inclusive and equitable organisation that embraces and promotes diversity.”
The recruitment and selection process for a new Managing Director has started, with the aim of announcing a successful candidate mid-year.
