Water Corporation will start work on an upgrade to the wastewater infrastructure in Two Rocks and Yanchep in Western Australia, including the construction of a new pump station.

Water Corporation General Manager Assets Delivery, Nick Churchill, said the project would cater for population growth within the City of Wanneroo.

“This important project ensures for decades to come residents will have access to reliable wastewater services to safely remove wastewater from their homes to be treated,’’ Mr Churchill said.

Mr Churchill said the $8.6 million project also included the construction of a new below ground wastewater pump station on Charnwood Reserve, and upgrade of the existing Abrolhos Close Wastewater Pump Station.

Starting in early February 2018, Water Corporation will begin construction on 4.2km of wastewater main, starting near the Two Rocks Shopping Centre at the intersection of Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Drive, and continue south along Two Rocks Road.

A further two kilometres of wastewater main will be built along the road reserve for the future extension of Marmion Avenue in Yanchep.

The upgrade is expected to take around 12 months to complete.
