The ACCC has released their advice for amendments to the water charge rule in a new rule draft.

The Commonwealth Government asked the ACCC to review the water charge rules made under the Water Act 2007 and provide advice on possible amendments to these rules, including draft rules.

While the draft advice has just been release, the final advice will be released in March 2016, in order to enable greater consultation with stakeholders on the draft advice and proposed water charge rules.

The proposed rule amendments have been informed by a number of targeted stakeholder meetings, submissions to the ACCC’s Issues Paper released in May 2015 as well as public forums held across the Murray-Darling Basin in July and August 2015.
