Gippsland Water has completed an $888,000 upgrade to water mains at the level crossings on Liddiard and McNairn Roads in Traralgon.

Managing director, Sarah Cumming, said the works involved replacing sections of aging pipeline to support ongoing residential growth in the eastern areas of Traralgon.

“These works are part of our water main renewal program which aims to progressively replace water mains that have reached, or are nearing the end of their useful lives,” Ms Cumming said.

“By upgrading and increasing the size of these mains, we are well-prepared for current and future commercial and residential development taking place in the east of Traralgon.”

After temporary traffic changes, traffic conditions have returned to normal.

“We would like to thank local road users for their patience and understanding during these past months as works were completed,” Ms Cumming said.

“Those in the area will notice our contractors return to undertake a minor clean-up in the coming weeks.”
