To improve the performance of the network and to cater for current needs and future growth in Kenilworth, Unitywater is refurbishing the existing reservoirs and installing a water booster pump station at the reservoir site in Alexandra Street.

The refurbishment of the existing reservoirs will include roof replacements and refurbishment of the internal walls.

Unitywater Executive Manager Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery, Simon Taylor said Unitywater was committed to providing a high quality, reliable water supply to the growing Kenilworth community, with further upgrades scheduled to start in Kenilworth in early March 2014.

“These works will ensure a constant water pressure to residents and will also enhance the provision of fire flow requirements to the Kenilworth network,” Mr Taylor said.

“It will maintain the high standard of Kenilworth’s water quality and extend the life of the reservoirs helping to defer the need for expensive infrastructure upgrades,” he said.

This project is part of the $680 million capital works program Unitywater is rolling out over the next five years to increase water and sewerage network capacity and cater for future population growth in the region.
