Water has now been restored to Karragarra, Macleay and Lamb islands in the Moreton Bay area following a pipeline break that cut off the supply.

The burst bulk water pipeline on Karragarra Island has been successfully repaired, but residents are still being advised to boil their drinking water until further notice.

Seqwater has been progressing with recharging the water supply. Water pressure should also be returning to normal.

Seqwater and Redland City Council advise a precautionary boil water alert is expected to remain in place until Thursday 25 October. Multiple treated water samples will be taken at various points along the network and laboratory tested to ensure there is no concern for public health.
