Construction work is underway on a new bore to supply SA Water’s 400 customers at Pinnaroo as part of a $3.2 million investment into securing and improving water supplies across South East SA.
SA Water Senior Manager Water Treatment and Quality, Janina Morrison says the new bore will be installed next to the local ambulance station on Railway Terrace, with works to take about four months to complete.
“Construction crews have recently started preparing the site for the new bore, with the bulk of the work to begin in February,” Ms Morrison says.
“The new bore will initially be used for observation to ensure the water in it meets our standards and has appropriate flow rates.
“If it meets these expectations, the bore will then be connected to the town’s water supply network.”
SA Water will also be relaying approximately 740 metres of water mains at Pinnaroo and Lameroo.
“As part of our ongoing water mains replacement program, SA Water crews will be relaying water mains along Bundey Terrace, Pinnaroo and Chandos Terrace, Lameroo,” Ms Morrison says.
“The relays are planned to begin in the first half of 2014 and will contribute to reducing the number of unplanned interruptions to customers and ensuring that acceptable levels of water supply service are maintained.”
During the works, traffic management will be in place and every effort will be made to minimise construction impacts on the public.
