WaterNSW is calling for private sector investment in renewable energy generation, and/or storage projects, for its land and assets.
These projects aim to support New South Wales energy security, help replace retiring coal-fired generation capacity and support the achievement of the New South Wales Government renewable energy objectives.
In May 2020, WaterNSW embarked on an Expressions of Interest (EOI) process to seek market interest in utilising Windamere Dam and Burrendong Dam for renewable energy schemes.
Shortlisted proponents from this EOI process are now being invited to submit detailed proposals by April 2022.
EOIs for a number of other regional dams will be advertised early in 2022.
