Western Power has announced that it met or exceeded nearly all of its targets to provide a reliable power supply to WA communities over the past financial year.
Networks Operations Manager Cameron Parrotte said it was pleasing to see the improvements delivered to the community by an increased investment in maintenance and replacement of poles and wires.
“The investment in the network is delivering positive outcomes for customers” Mr Parrotte said.
“Reliability of service is influenced by investment in the existing network and also in expanding the network to meet the demands of growth.
“It was also pleasing to see Western Power’s Call Centre again produce a high level of service, particularly during storms when people want information on restoration efforts.
“Unfortunately, a higher than usual amount of lightning meant some country people experienced a greater number of power interruptions than they had previously,” he said.
In the metropolitan area there was also improvement in the time taken by Western Power crews to repair damaged parts of the network.
