More than 600 water professionals across Australia will attend the Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) 41st Queensland Water Industry Operations Conference and Exhibition on 1 and 2 June 2016.

The conference and exhibition will be held at the Central Queensland University Sports Centre in Rockhampton where employees in the water industry will share ideas and look at new technology and equipment available in the sector.

The event will host the third running of the Ixom Water of Origin Taste Test, where the Barcaldine Regional Council will represent Queensland against NSW’s Nambucca Shire Council.

More than 100 exhibitors from the world’s leading water companies will be in attendance and there will be 22 presentations spanning the two days.

Adam Lovell from Water Services Association of Australia will deliver the opening address on the challenges of managing more complex water systems in the future, and Richard Petterson from Queensland Urban Utilities will deliver the keynote address on the innovation centre.

The conference will also be a collection of the latest equipment and trends in treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, water supply and reclaimed water.

The WIOA conference and exhibition will be hosted by Fitzroy River Water and will bring together a range of regional and metropolitan employees to discuss education and training, preservation of clean waterways, protection of public health and the environment.
