Endeavour Energy has announced construction work on its South Marsden Park Zone Substation in NSW will start in January 2018.

Endeavour Energy’s General Manager Network Development, Ty Christopher, said the company was investing $24.6 million to build the new zone substation at Hollinsworth Road within the Marsden Park Industrial Precinct.

“This investment will underpin significant future growth in the area by giving homes and businesses the power they need for many years to come,” Mr Christopher said.

“This project forms part of our long-term plans to boost the development of priority growth areas by providing a safe and reliable electricity supply to homes and businesses in the area.”

Mr Christopher said Endeavour Energy had consulted with Blacktown City Council and planning agencies on the design and location of the new substation.

“The substation was approved following a robust assessment to achieve the best balance of community, environmental, financial and technical considerations.

“We want to work with local businesses, residents and motorists while this development is completed to minimise inconvenience to them.”

Marsden Park Industrial Precinct will include:

  • 206 hectares of industrial land and a mix of residential housing close to the planned Marsden Park town centre, which will provide accommodation for 3,500 people
  • 70 hectares of commercial land
  • 63 hectares of conservation land and open space
  • 40 hectares of bulky goods retailing.
