Two benchmarking studies, ‘Water and Sewage Pump Stations’ and ‘Waste Water Treatment Plants’, have recently been completed by WSAA members. The first of their kind, these studies will contribute significantly to the energy efficiency journey of the urban water industry.
The outcomes of the studies highlight opportunities for improving data integrity, reducing energy use, and identified top performers so members can learn from those doing well. The projects have also seen the development of new metrics for measuring energy use and are expected to influence KPIs adopted by the Office of Living Victoria.
The results of the studies are available for purchase by utilities by contacting Jennifer Bartlesmith of WSAA on [email protected].
Two technical working groups will now follow through on the recommendations outlined in each study and develop practical outcomes for utilities.
