Seqwater have awarded a contract for upgrade works at the Mt Crosby Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Brisbane.

Zinfra Group have been awarded the contract after a multi-staged tender process which included presenting 30% of the design of the plant, pricing, several interviews and a third party review.

The scope of the work includes design, construction and commissioning of alum dosing and flash mixers, as well as a new Plant Logic Control (PLC) system, which provides electrical automation for the plant.

The Mt Crosby WTP is an essential part of Seqwater’s water supply network, which provides a safe, secure and reliable water supply to south east Queensland.

Peter Bierton, Senior Project Manager at Zinfra, described the purpose of the works as “disaster-proofing the plant so supply of water won’t be at risk for southeast Queensland”.

The brownfield project started in March and is scheduled for completion in October 2015.
