Yarra Valley Water will look to Service Stream and Ventia to support the delivery of safe and reliable water and sanitation services for more than two million Victorians.
Commencing in October 2026, the nine-year partnership will strengthen Yarra Valley Water’s ability to maintain critical infrastructure and deliver high-quality services to customers and communities across Melbourne.
Yarra Valley Water General Manager Asset Services, Bridie Fennessy, said the utility was looking forward to building on its long-standing relationships with both partners.
“We know how important reliable water and sanitation services are to the people we serve, and strengthening our partnerships with Service Stream and Ventia helps us keep delivering on that promise,” Fennessy said.
“We’ve built strong relationships over many years, and this next chapter is about working even more closely, sharing what we learn and finding smarter ways to maintain our network so our customers feel the benefits.”
Service Stream brings extensive experience delivering maintenance services for utilities including South East Water, SA Water and Sydney Water. The company also has an established relationship with Yarra Valley Water through capital delivery projects, meter reading services and more recent asset reliability programs.
Ventia will continue as one of Yarra Valley Water’s long-term maintenance partners, bringing detailed knowledge of the network and a strong track record in safety, customer experience and rapid response services.
Together, Service Stream and Ventia will deliver both responsive and scheduled maintenance across Yarra Valley Water’s civil infrastructure assets, as well as mechanical and electrical maintenance services for sewer and water systems and treatment plant assets.
The scope of works includes specialist equipment such as pumps, valves and electrical switchboards.
Dean Banks, Managing Director and Group CEO of Ventia, said the company was pleased to continue its partnership with Yarra Valley Water.
“The team has already achieved strong results in customer experience and response times and, as we enter a new phase, we remain focused on transformational asset management and enhanced service delivery,” Banks said.
The utility will transition to the new partnership model over the coming months while ensuring all existing work continues uninterrupted.
Leigh Mackender, Managing Director of Service Stream, said the company was proud to be selected for the long-term program.
“We look forward to working closely with Yarra Valley Water and supporting the maintenance of its critical infrastructure across Melbourne.”
